An urge for Storytelling
As a child, Tom (1994, Belgium) would devour the tales of the Brothers Grimm by listening to his tape recorder until the cassettes would wore out.
This urge for compelling narrative would remain a constant during his formative years and ultimately lead him to enlisting for the directing program at Luca School of Arts campus Brussel. In 2019, he graduated with a Masters degree and urge for stories from the raw side of society.
As a jack of all trades, Tom, would use his time during college and first professional stints as a way to immerse himself in some of the other departments of filmmaking. Location and production, but also some of the more hands on jobs, such as gripping, lightning and camera. This would eventually lead to an interlude of 2 years at Lucky Camera rental, as a general camera/lightning technician.
Now his focus is fully on directing and finalizing his new project, about Belgium’s seedy underbelly during the chaotic ’80s.
